Marco Silva’s Fulham squad are certainly enjoying one of their more memorable positive runs of form.
The Cottagers claimed a 2-1 English Premier League victory over London rivals Chelsea on Boxing Day. U.S. men’s national team left back Antonee Robinson logged 90 minutes in the result, which marked Fulham’s first win at Stamford Bridge since 1979.
Cole Palmer delivered the breakthrough goal for Chelsea in the 16th minute, continuing a stellar first half of the season for the Blues.
However, Fulham would rally in the second half to earn a vital road victory.
Robinson wasn’t credited with an assist on Fulham’s equalizing goal but did play a key part in the build-up play. The 27-year-old’s cross was headed back across the Chelsea box by Timothy Castagne, allowing substitute Harry Wilson to finish home.
Follow substitute Rodrigo Muniz propelled Fulham in front in the 95th minute, boosting the Cottagers into a 2-1 lead that they wouldn’t relinquish.
Robinson has now featured in 17 of Fulham’s 18 league matches this season.
Fulham sits in eighth place and will close its 2024 schedule at Craven Cottage on Dec. 29 against Bournemouth.
