Will Chelsea sign new defender in January window?

CHELSEA’s owners have decided the club do not need a new central defender in the January transfer window, despite all the speculation and rumours which has suggested that the Blues are open to signing a new big man.

Everyone has been socked by the start to the season that we have had, they are second in the Premier League and looking like a side that will be very hard to stop this season as Enzo Maresca has made a massive impact.

But there have been many reports in the media that we are looking to improve a number of areas in the squad and adding a new defender to the side is something that will reportedly help us really win that Premier League title.

That has led to alot of speculation in the media that Chelsea will once again delve into that transfer kitty and add a new defender to the side, but The Athletic reports the Blues hierarchy doesn’t take the view that they are only a centre-back and ‘keeper away from landing the top-flight title.

The reports says that Chelsea believe that they have the squad to challenge for Champions League football this season, and may not make too many signings in January.

The way that Chelsea play, the possession based football that Enzo Maresca wants, adding a new ball-playing defender that is better on the ball is something that the club needs to do at the end of the season, January is not the time.

W are fully expecting alot of rumours about players coming and going in the winter window, but not too many deals to actually happen for CHELSEA. They have one of the biggest squad in the Premier League and believe they can keep on challenging with the side that they have.
