One day after assisting in Juventus’ 4-0 Coppa Italia victory over Cagliari, American winger Tim Weah received some frustrating news.
Weah suffered a minor thigh injury in the match, Juventus announced Wednesday. The U.S. men’s national team forward’s status is undetermined for this weekend’s Serie A clash with Monza on Sunday.
Weah came off the bench and set up Nicolas Gonzalez for the Bianconeri’s fourth and final goal of their Coppa Italia win in Turin.
The 24-year-old has scored four goals and added four assists in 18 combined appearances for Juventus this season. However, he’s missed five club matches due to both hamstring and ankle injuries, as well as five matches for the USMNT.
Weah has featured in a number of roles under manager Thiago Motta, playing out wide, as a No. 9, and as a wing back.
The Bianconeri have two matches left on their 2024 schedule and currently sit sixth in Serie A.
