The place to come for the latest tournament standings

The Six Nations table 2025 currently has Europe’s elite teams level on points, bonus points, points difference and every conceivable metric besides alphabetical order. That will soon change in spectacular style, however, when France v Wales, the first Six Nations fixture of the season, kicks off on Friday 31 January.

We’ll be updating this guide to the Six Nations table throughout the 2025 edition of the beloved championship, so you can follow the changing fortunes of England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales all the way through to Super Saturday on Saturday 15 March.

Six Nations table 2024: final standings

Ireland topped the Six Nations table for the second year in a row, having been denied a Grand Slam by their 22-23 narrow defeat to England at Twickenham. The destination of the title had never really felt in doubt, though, after Andy Farrell’s men secured an opening day victory in Marseille over eventual runners-up France. Despite a negative points difference, Steve Borthwick’s England made it into the top half of the table, narrowly ahead of Scotland who disappointed with just two victories out of five.

But the biggest headlines could arguably be found at the bottom of the Six Nations table. Although bonus points ensured Italy were unable to leapfrog Scotland into fourth place, their return of two wins and a draw was their best in the history of the tournament. They also consigned Warren Gatland’s Wales to a first Wooden Spoon since 2003.

Six Nations table 2023: final standings

A dominant Ireland clinched a third Grand Slam in 15 years, topping the Six Nations table from start to finish – Scotland were the only team to deny them a try-scoring bonus point. 2023’s final standings also provide a handy illustration of how the bonus point system works, as Ireland were awarded three extra points for the Grand Slam. (That’s in addition to the 20 they scored for winning their matches, and four more bonus points.)

Despite losing a thriller in Dublin, reigning champions France were the best of the rest, with Gregor Townsend’s Scotland rounding out the podium. England managed just two victories during Borthwick’s first Six Nations campaign in charge, while Wales’ victory over Italy in Rome ensured the Azzurri propped up the Six Nations table once again.

Six Nations table 2022: final standings

France won the Grand Slam after making it five wins from five in the 2022 Six Nations. Les Bleus topped the table with 25 points, while Ireland were second on 21 points.

England and Scotland finished level on 10 points but Eddie Jones’s side finished in the top half of the Six Nations table thanks to their superior points difference. Italy’s shock last-day victory over Wales in Cardiff wasn’t enough to lift them off the bottom of the pile.
