Maresca – Rashford – Casedai feature in Chelsea news now

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed today…

CHELSEA have officially confirmed that they are pleased to announce defender Josh Acheampong has signed a new contract until 2029 and ended all speculation that he could look to leave the club in the immediate future.

The 18-year-old, who made his first-team debut against Tottenham at the end of last season, also featured against Barrow in the Carabao Cup in September, but was then frozen out amid a contract stand-off. His first CHELSEA start, against Astana last week, was also his first senior appearance in almost three months.

The Blues posted on the club website: ‘Josh joined the Blues’ development centre programme as an Under-8 and has since worked his way through the youth ranks at Cobham.

He made his Under-18s debut on the final day of the 2021/22 campaign and became a regular in the side the following season.

Comfortable in multiple positions across the backline, Josh also made his mark on the international stage, featuring for England at the Under-17 European Championships in the summer of 2023 and the Under-17 World Cup the following November.

The 2023/24 campaign proved an important one for Josh.

He signed his first professional contract, helped our Under-18s win the Premier League southern title, stepped up to Under-21s football, and was handed a memorable first-team debut against Tottenham Hotspur.

Introduced in front of the Stamford Bridge faithful, Josh helped the Blues see out the final minutes of a 2-0 victory.

Having celebrated his 18th birthday in May, Josh was then part of the senior squad that travelled to the United States for our summer tour. He then made his second senior outing against Barrow in September.

A full debut arrived last week as Josh started in our Europa Conference League victory over Astana in Kazakhstan. He was also named among the substitutes for our victory over Brentford on Sunday.

Congratulations on your new deal, Josh!’

CHELSEA GET RASHFORD GREEN LIGHT

CHELSEA transfer target Marcus Rashford has opened the door to a potential Manchester United exit after confirming that he is ready for a new challenge after his struggles at the Red Devils.

Rashford is a player that has been at Man United all through his career, and was tipped to become one of the best attackers in the game a few seasons ago when he hit an impressive 30 goals, but since then it has all gone wrong.

He looks nothing like the player that could bang in goals on a weekly basis and because of that he has fallen well down the pecking order at Old Trafford, which has led to alot of rumours that we could make an offer in the upcoming January window.

Now, amid all the speculation and rumours, Rashford has opened up and admitted that he is ready for a new challenge – In a chat with journalist Henry Winter, the 27-year-old said: “For me, personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps. When I leave it’s going to be ‘no hard feelings’. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person.

“If I know that a situation is already bad I’m not going to make it worse. I’ve seen how other players have left in the past and I don’t want to be that person. When I leave I’ll make a statement and it will be from me.”

He added: “I’m halfway through my career. I don’t expect my peak to be now. I’ve had nine years so far in the Premier League and that’s taught me a lot, that’s helped me grow as a player and as a person.

“So I don’t have any regrets from the last nine years. I won’t have any regrets going forward because I take things day by day and sometimes bad things happen, and sometimes good things happen. I just try and keep a fine balance. 100%. That’s my mentality.”

When asked if he would always be a red at heart, Rashford quickly responded: “Yes! 100%. 100%.”

CASEDAI AND MILAN DEAL CLOSE

CHELSEA are reportedly close to agreeing a loan deal with AC Milan for Cesare Casadei, according to reports in Italy as the young man is pushing for a move away from the Blues in order to get some first team minutes that he has failed to do at Stamford Bridge

The 21-year-old has played a little over ten times for the Blues and while he was close to departing the club in the summer, potentially on a loan deal, he ended up staying at Stamford Bridge.

He’s yet to play in the Premier League in the campaign, and despite the manager not picking him, Casadei has revealed to TuttoSport in an interview that Enzo Maresca played a key role in keeping him at CHELSEA.

But According to according to Fichajes., Chelsea and Milan are ‘quickly’ advancing their negotiations over a six-month loan deal for Casadei ahead of the January transfer window.
