Man United transfer news: Isak

Here is a roundup of the top Manchester United news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed today..

Alexander Isak has insisted the talk of a supposed £150million price tag ‘doesn’t really faze him too much’, amid the rumours that both Arsenal and Manchester United are still interested in a deal for the striker.

Newcastle signed Isak for £63m in the summer of 2022 from Spanish side Real Sociedad and he has four years left on his contract, and Isak is now regarded as one of the best strikers in the Premier League and a forward that all the big clubs have been linked with over the past 12 months, but that £110M asking price has been a real problem for the chasing clubs.

It has been claimed that Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham could make a move in the January window and were reportedly ready to make an offer of £60-80 million in order to tempt Newcastle into getting a transfer deal done.

Isak has subsequently scored 11 goals in 16 Premier League appearances this season and is rediscovering his best form, having scored four of those in his last two matches, and Newcastle now want a whopping £150 million before they will allow the striker to leave the club.

While Isak could be forgiven for being distracted by reports surrounding his supposed £150m valuation at St James’ Park, it appears the attacker remains fully ‘focused’ on the task at hand with Newcastle.

‘No, it doesn’t really faze me too much. I think that’s more for you guys and for fans to talk about,’ he replied when quizzed on reports surrounding his price tag.

‘I’m in the middle of the season and I think it’s going really well for me and the team, so, you know, all my focus is here.

‘I’m really happy with how things are going. My focus is on the pitch.’

Look, Isak will get a big move at some point, he is banging in the goals, but he is not worth £150 million, that is crazy money.

AMORIM WANTS GYOKERES

Ruben Amorim wants to sign Viktor Gyokeres this month for Manchester United – but knows it won’t be easy as Sporting Lisbon do not want to let their star leave, and the Red Devils have not money to splash.

Over the past few transfer windows, the Manchester United board have backed the manager and spent some insane money, but the players that have been brought to the club have not improved the side enough to close the gap on the top three or four teams.

Ruben Amorim is now in charge of the club after the sacking of Erik Ten Hag and there has been alot of speculation in the media that the club will look to raid his former club and bring striker Gyokeres to the Premier League.

Last season Gyokeres was in sensational form for Sporting Lisbon and broke the 40 goal barrier for the Portuguese giants, he already has more than 20 goals and is fully established as one of the most dangerous strikers in the game, and a player that Amorim would like at United.

It has been claimed that Amorim wants Gyokeres to be brought to Old Trafford this transfer window, but knows that a deal for his player will not come easily.

Gyokeres will cost £80million and such a transfer will have to be sanctioned by the Glazer family. It will also require a number of departures this month to satisfy profit and sustainability rules.

Speaking candidly to reporters on Monday night about the possibility of January transfers, Amorim stated, “We don’t have that possibility in January. You know the situation better than I [do].

‘It’s not the case I am not arriving here and I can spend a lot of money, changing all the team. You know the situation so it’s not a point to talk about it.”

NUNO MENDES WANTS UNITED MOVE

PSG star Nuno Mendes is reportedly very keen on joining Manchester United this January window, amid the rumours that the Red Devils have already made contact over a possible deal.

There is still a lot of speculation surrounding the players that Ruben Amorim will look to sign during the next couple of transfer windows, especially as the club still need to improve that back-line when they have the chance too.

Man United have been poor defensively this season and are conceding far too many goals for one of the big clubs, meaning that Amorim has made it his mission to improve that back-line when the transfer window opens up.

Amorim enjoyed great success at Sporting and may want to reunite with some key players from his time in Lisbon, as reports claim Nuno Mendes fits the bill after the now-Paris Saint-Germain left back broke through at Sporting under Amorim.

the reports add in France that United have now made an offer to Mendes after Amorim encouraged the Board to make a move for the PSG star, and According to reports from Pete Hall for the i paper, the Portuguese defender is also keen on being reunited with Amorim at Manchester United.

Amorim knows the type of players he needs to improve this Man United side, he knows what he needs to play his brand of football and if Mendes is that, then he will be signed by the club

The board will surely back their new coach if they believe he is the man that can drive Man United back to the top, but there are a number of areas of the pitch that need to be improved.

There will be some big changes in the coming windows, alot of players coming and alot of players going, Nunes is a solid enough player that will add some more quality to that Manchester United back-line, which is needed.
