Here is a roundup of the top Liverpool news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed today…
Danny Murphy has urged LIVERPOOL to explore a move for Chelsea full-back Malo Gusto if Trent Alexander-Arnold leaves at the end of the season and makes that expected move to join Real Madrid.
England full-back Alexander-Arnold is out of contract in the summer and is being linked with a move to European giants Real Madrid and Premier League champions Manchester City.
Former Liverpool midfielder Murphy reckons that Alexander-Arnold is likely to move to Spain despite his deep-rooted affinity with the Merseyside club, and he has now urged the Reds to make a move for Malo Gusto
‘My gut feeling is that he’s going to go. I think if he were to stay that would probably have been sorted by now,’ he told MyBettingSites.co.uk
‘There does seem to be a little bit of contention around certain supporters who think he should stay and he owes the club but the reality is the club have let him get to this position.
‘They should have tied him up a long time ago. It’s a difficult one and quite unusual for Liverpool to have let this one happen. They should learn from it and it shouldn’t happen again.’

Football is all about money these days and if Liverpool really want to sign Malo Gusto, if they really want to make him a Red in January or at the end of the season, then around £60 million would be enough to get a transfer deal done.
However – he has a massive contract at CHELSEA, looks rather happy now that he is playing every week and the Blues do not need to sell unless they already have a replacement lined up.
It is a shock rumour to see that LIVERPOOL want Gusto, he has been brilliant, but we are sure that he is one player that will not be leaving Chelsea anytime soon
VAN DIJK DECLARES LOVE
LIVERPOOL captain Virgil van Dijk believes he can play “another three or four years” at the highest level amid all the reports that the Reds are still trying to work on a new deal for the powerful Dutch star
The Dutchman is one of three key Liverpool players – along with Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold – whose contracts expire at the end of the season and talks have been ongoing for months now as the Reds seek to keep hold of their captain
The trio of players, however, are allowed to negotiate with foreign clubs from January 1 over a free transfer in the summer, and there are a number of clubs that are ready to raid Liverpool and get their biggest stars all signed up.
But while rumours continue to circulate, Van Dijk has declared his “love” for the club and told the board that he has the capability of playing at the highest level for another three or four years – The 33-year-old told Amazon Prime: “I love the club, the club loves me.
“I love the fans, the fans love me and it is a very good foundation to be successful.
“In my opinion I can play for another three, four years at least at the highest level.
“We will see what the future brings.”

Van Dijk is one of the best defenders in the game and although he is not as young as he used to be, he is still able to handle the very best players in world football and he should get that new deal he desires.
This is a message that he wants to stay, that he wants to stay for more than two years, and many LIVERPOOL fans will be hoping that the club give him the deal he obviously wants.
MATHEUS CUNHA BOOST
Wolves boss Vitor Pereira hopes that LIVERPOOL and Arsenal target Matheus Cunha will stay with the club – but admits the forward could get “opportunities” to move away from Molineux in the future.
Cunha has been in brilliant form this season for Wolves and there has been alot of speculation that the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in a move when the January window opens up in just a few days time.
Both clubs are challenging for that Premier League title, but are also still involved in the Fa Cup, Carabao Cup, Champions League, sot there are many more games to play before the end of the season and depth is something that Arne Alot and Mikel Arteta are keen on in the winter window,
Cunha got a goal and an assist against Manchester United in Wolves’ 2-0 win over Ruben Amorim’s side on Boxing Day – to make it 14 goal involvements in 18 matches this season.
And with newspaper reports linked Cunha with a January move to Arsenal and Liverpool, Pereira admits he hopes Cunha will stay with the club – but admits the forward could get “opportunities” to move away from Molineux in the future.
“I hope that he stays with us for a long time but I understand that a special player will have opportunities for sure in his career,” said the Portuguese boss of Cunha.
However, Cunha recently admitted that he feels settled and seemingly unfazed by rumours linking him with a January move: ‘I feel like it’s my home,’ Cunha told Wolves’ official website.
