Veteran media personality Dr. Ofweneke has urged women to stop expecting their boyfriends to meet unrealistic financial standards, especially when their own fathers could not provide such lifestyles for them or their mothers.

Dr. Ofweneke has delivered a powerful message of hope, urging people not to panic.
“Ladies, be fair to yourselves and these men,” he began, emphasizing that it’s unreasonable to demand things from a man that they never witnessed their fathers provide for their families.
Dr. Ofweneke further pointed out that many fathers only achieve certain financial milestones after years of hard work and growth. “Don’t pressure a man to accomplish at 20 what your father is achieving in his 40s or 50s,” he stated bluntly.
He also highlighted the struggles many young men face, such as carrying financial burdens like black tax, while working hard to build their lives. Asking them to meet unattainable standards only adds unnecessary stress.

“You can’t expect a 20-year-old to provide a lifestyle that only a 40-year-old can afford,” he explained, urging women who know their partners lack financial means to be content or avoid relationships where their expectations will not be met.
“Stop giving these men false hope when you know your standards are high. Be honest from the beginning,” he advised.
