Diomande – Rashford – Wirtz feature in Man United news now

Here is a roundup of the top Manchester United news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed today..

Sky Sports’ Gary Neville has been speaking on the future of Marcus Rashford and claimed that he could actually leave Manchester United when the January window opens up in a few weeks time

According to the Telegraph, United started welcoming bids for the 27-year-old last summer following a drastic loss of form, and are ready to let him leave the club when the January window opens up next month, and could accept just £40 million for the star

When Rashford was omitted from the squad once again at the weekend, Neville has been speaking on the future of Rashford and claimed that he could leave in January: “Marcus Rashford’s absence isn’t really a surprise any more. It’s something of the norm.

“You leave him out for three matches on the bounce, something really is going wrong or has gone wrong.

“It’s not looking great for both Marcus’ future at the club or Manchester United keeping him. I suspect it’s getting to the point in the journey where there is an inevitable ending.

“If you’d said to me seven or eight days ago whether Rashford could leave in January, I’d say no chance.

“One thing in the past with players at a big club, if you’re talking to me about it every single week, it becomes a distraction for the manager and the focal point of the press conference, that’s when it does become obvious they have to leave.

“It’ll probably work for both parties. There’s good examples of players who have struggled at Man Utd and gone on to do better elsewhere – Jadon Sancho at Chelsea, Scott McTominay didn’t struggle but he’s doing well at Napoli.

“Marcus might think that’s the right thing for him as well.”

WIRTZ UPDATE GIVEN

Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro has confirmed that star midfielder and Manchester United target Florian Wirtz is yet to sign a new contract amid interest from several top European clubs.

Over the past few seasons at Leverkusen, Wirtz has become one of the most creative midfielders in Europe and a player that all the big clubs are reportedly ready to pay over £100 million in order to try and get a transfer deal done.

Now, Speaking to Florian Plettemberg, Carro has given chasing clubs a boost in a bid to get the player signed up by admitting that he has yet to agree a new contract at the club, he said: “Our wish is for Florian to play for us as long as possible. It would be great if he stays even until the 2026 World Cup, meaning through next season.

‘The likelihood of that happening is obviously higher with a contract extension. Therefore, we’d very much like to extend his contract.”

However – amid all the speculation and the rumours, Lothar Matthaus recently opened up and warned the German star that a move away to one of the big clubs does not need to happen at this stage – He told Sky Sport Germany: “If I were Florian Wirtz, I would stay in Leverkusen until the 2026 World Cup. So if he were to extend his contract, that would make perfect sense to me. Making a big move always brings with it a lot of fuss that doesn’t go unnoticed.

‘At Bayer, Wirtz is in his familiar, protected environment and could prepare himself perfectly for the World Cup. At Real Madrid, Manchester City & Co. there is a different media world and the pressure is increasing, while at Bayer he is protected even when he is not playing so well. Kylian Mbappe is the best example, who as the king of Paris has somewhat faded away in Madrid over the last six months.

“In addition, Wirtz has a club in Leverkusen that is one of the top 10 in Europe and can beat any team.

‘I think that the Bundesliga is often underplayed, especially in our country. It also has its appeal and there are now possibly three teams in the direct [Champions League] round of 16.

‘The Bundesliga is stronger than it is often said to be and so Wirtz does not necessarily have to change in order to be able to play at a higher level.”

DIOMANDE EYES PREM MOVE

Manchester United transfer target  and 20-year-old defender Ousmane Diomande could consider leaving Sporting CP next summer amid interest from the Premier League, it has been claimed in the media this week.

There is still a lot of speculation surrounding the players that Ruben Amorim will look to sign during the next couple of transfer windows, especially as the club still need to improve that back-line when they have the chance too.

That has led to some rumours in the media which have claimed that the Man Unied tried to get a transfer deal done for Diomande in the last few days of the last transfer window, but a €35million (£30m) bid rejected.

Diomande, who has a bit release clause, quickly became a regular in the Sporting defence following his arrival at the start of the year, making his European debut against the Gunners in the Europa League.

Per Fichajes, 20-year-old defender Ousmane Diomande could consider leaving Sporting CP next summer amid interest from the Premier League.

The player’s current deal runs until 2027, however, the contract does not have a release clause. The Portuguese giants are likely to demand a fee in the region of €50-60m.

Diomande is a quality defender that could play in the Premier League for the club, he is a man that has the ability to become a real star at Manchester United and a player that fans would love to see arrive at the club.

It is alot of money to splash on the lad, but at the end of the day, improving that defence is something that Ruben Amorim needs to happen, i would just like somebody with a bit more experience you know?
