Arnold and Robinson feature in Liverpool news now

Here is a roundup of the top Liverpool news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed today…

Ex-LIVERPOOL defender Neil Ruddock has explained why Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold may consider leaving Anfield in 2025, despite the reports that the Reds are still in talks over a new deals for the duo.

Despite being two of the most important players for Arne Slot right now, there has been alot of speculation in the media about whether or not the pair will still be at the club beyond the summer as their contracts expire.

Liverpool have been working hard trying to give the duo the deals that they are seeking, but with a few clubs from Saudi Arabia very interested and a potential move to Real Madrid for Trent Alexander-Arnold, the Reds are having trouble wrapping up the deals.

Now, amid all the speculation and rumours, Ruddock has explained why Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold may consider leaving Anfield in 2025 – Speaking to FourFourTwo, Ruddock said: “Players come to the end of their contracts but I’m sure they’ve been talking, you don’t leave it until after Christmas, I’m sure there’s a lot going on.

“I’m sure Liverpool are trying their hardest to keep the three of them there, but as a footballer, you can’t blame them if they want to taste playing abroad, playing for Real Madrid – for a young player like Trent, you can’t really blame him.

‘For the older lads like Salah, I can also understand. Why would you stay a couple more years if you don’t think you’re going to be the player you were and you lose that hero status?”

Look, Both players are world class and two players LIVERPOOL do not want to see leave, but at the end of the day it would not be a surprise to see them leave the club at the end of the season.

It will be sad to see Alexander-Arnold and Salah leave the Premier League, but it could really happen.

ROBINSON TOP TARGET

USMNT star Antonee Robinson is “top of the list” when it comes to January transfer targets at LIVERPOOL, claims Reds legend Jamie Carragher, as a possible replacement for Andrew Robertson is wanted by Arne Slot.

Robertson, who joined the Reds from Hull City in 2017 and was an integral part of the squad that won multiple trophies under Jurgen Klopp, has a contract at Anfield until 2026, but the club are preparing for his potential exit from Merseyside.

The Merseyside club have added a few names to their shortlist which includes Fulham’s Antonee Robinson and Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez, and Alphonso Davies, with the Bayern Munich star a player that they could sign for free at the end of the season.

Now, amid all the speculation and rumours, Carragher has claimed that Robinson is the number one target for Liverpool – Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher said: “He was outstanding. He was the best player on the pitch. When you are going to Anfield and you are playing against Mo Salah – possibly the best player in the Premier League this season – and you come out of it with a Man of the Match award, that shows you how highly he is thought of.

‘Yes, I think Liverpool probably will be shopping for a left-back in January and I’m sure he will be top of the list.”

Robertson looks like a player that is on the decline, Robinson looks like a player that is ready to make that step up to a club like Liverpool and that is why he could probably be a very good signing for the Reds.

He needs to make the right choice about his next move, but LIVERPOOL could be a very good option for the man

ZUBIMENDI MAKES LIVERPOOL CLAIM

Real Sociedad and Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi says it “wasn’t that hard of a decision” to turn down LIVERPOOL and stay at his current club when the Premier League leaders came calling in the summer.

Zubimendi was all over the transfer headlines during the summer window as Liverpool and Arsenal were just two clubs that were very interested in bringing the £51 million rated star to the Premier League.

However – a move never happened and now Zubimendi has explained why he pulled out of a move to Liverpool in the summer in favour of staying with Real Sociedad – admitting the interest caught him by surprise, says the Sunday Mirror.

“I went on vacation, and it caught me by surprise,” the Spain international told El Diario Vasco.

“It wasn’t something I had planned. I reacted when the situation arose. It was an uncomfortable time for me but I weighed the pros and cons and concluded that the best option was to stay.

“I don’t believe in ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ opportunities. If you’re good and want to achieve something, it will come to you. There’s no need to rush.

“I looked at my personal progression, who I am, and the club’s project. I stayed because I knew this season would be important for me in the team, and I still had steps to take.

‘It wasn’t that hard of a decision. There were many reasons for my decision, but I was selfish and thought about what was best for me – and that was staying.”

Zubimendi probably made the right decision to stay where he is as this current Liverpool side is playing some brilliant football and he could have struggled to make any sort of impact in the side.

We are not expecting LIVERPOOL to make a move for the player in the January window, but there could be an offer from struggling Man City
