At least 28 passengers have been killed in a plane crash at an airport in South Korea, local media reports.
Passengers are being rescued from the tail of the plane which crashed at Muan Airport after veering off the runway.
The plane was carrying 175 passengers and six crew when it attempted to land.
South Korean officials have said that 28 people were killed in the crash, Yonhap News Agency reports.
Footage on social media appears to show the moment the plane crashed into a wall and burst into flames, after skidding off the runway.
Firefighters were also attempting to rescue 23 passengers who were in the tail section of the wreckage, according to officials, who added the plane’s landing gear had malfunctioned.
The plane caught fire but the blaze has since been put out.
The Jeju Air flight was flying back from Bangkok, Thailand, at the time of the crash.
The emergency office didn’t immediately confirm the reported casualties but said that two people had been safely rescued.
Photos shared by local media showed smoke and flame engulfing parts of the plane.
Acting President Choi Sung-mok ordered an all-out rescue effort, his office said.
