Zubimendi – Kerkez – Marmoush feature in Liverpool news gossip

Here is a roundup of the top Liverpool news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed today…

Arsenal and LIVERPOOL transfer target Omar Marmoush has addressed the rumours that he is a target for the Premier League giants after another impressive season for Bundesliga side Eintract Frankfurt.

The forward has delivered 18 goals across all competitions, continuing from his previous season’s performance of 17 goals and six assists in 41 games and is drawing all sorts of attention from some of the biggest teams in the Premier League, including the likes of LIVERPOOL – who are always looking to add to their squad.

The Reds have one of the biggest squads in Europe – but with a number of players expected to leave in the coming windows – there will be some space for the likes of Marmoosh to come in and try to make an impact in that Arne Slots side.

According to German outlet SportBILD, Liverpool have been in touch with Marmoush’s advisors for a potential transfer and have “officially registered their interest” in the Egyptian.

Marmoush, however, has insisted that he is not thinking about his next move and is only focused on helping Frankfurt build upon their impressive start to the campaign.

‘There’s always a lot of speculation on the outside. But I don’t actually have a particular dream goal,’ he told German publication Bild when asked about his future.

‘What I can promise the fans is that I will give my all for Eintracht in every game. I am not thinking about a transfer. I am living in the here and now and enjoying my time in Frankfurt.

‘Eintracht believed in me and put their trust in me. I want to repay that trust with good performances and goals. What happens in the distant future, however, doesn’t interest me.

‘I want to continue to do my best so that at the end of the season we can say as a team: We have achieved something big.’

ZUBIMENDI READY FOR MOVE

Spanish football expert Guilleme Balague has opened up and claimed that long-term LIVERPOOL target Martin Zubimendi is now open to leaving Real Sociedad after rejecting a move away in the summer window.

Zubimendi was all over the transfer headlines during the summer window as Liverpool and Arsenal were just two clubs that were very interested in bringing the £51 million rated star to the Premier League.

However – a move never happened and recently Zubimendi explained why he pulled out of a move to Liverpool in the summer in favour of staying with Real Sociedad, with  rumours linking the Spain international with a move to Anfield have not subsided.

But according to Guillem Balague, speaking to the BBC, Zubimendi is now ready to leave Sociedad. While Barcelona are admirers, with a price tag of £60m, it is likely only Premier League clubs will be able to afford him.

Balague hinted LIVERPOOL may not go back in for Zubimendi, which would likely place Manchester City at the forefront of the conversation. Manchester United are also a possible destination for the player.

Here is what Zubimendi recently said on the shock offer from Liverpool in the summer: “I went on vacation, and it caught me by surprise,” the Spain international told El Diario Vasco.

“It wasn’t something I had planned. I reacted when the situation arose. It was an uncomfortable time for me but I weighed the pros and cons and concluded that the best option was to stay.

“I don’t believe in ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ opportunities. If you’re good and want to achieve something, it will come to you. There’s no need to rush.

“I looked at my personal progression, who I am, and the club’s project. I stayed because I knew this season would be important for me in the team, and I still had steps to take.

‘It wasn’t that hard of a decision. There were many reasons for my decision, but I was selfish and thought about what was best for me – and that was staying.”

KERKEZ TIPPED FOR LIVERPOOL

Former LIVERPOOL midfielder Danny Murphy has tipped Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez to join the Reds and help provide competition for Andy Robertson.

Liverpool have been in tremendous form this season and look like a side that is desperate to make up for a petty bad season last year and win the Champions League and Premier League titles.

But despite the squad that Arne Slot has and the great start to the new season, there has been alot of speculation about the type of players the Dutchman is keen to bring to the club over the next few weeks to add a bit more depth to the side.

Andy Robertson is getting back to his very best football in that left-back position, bot there is a feeling that adding another wing-back to the squad is something that Slot would like to do and Kerkez has been linked with a shock move.

Now, amid all the speculation and rumours, Murphy has tipped Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez to join the Reds and help provide competition for Robertson – He told MyBettingSites.co.uk: “I think one of the other two (Antonee Robinson and Milos Kerkez) would be really good competition for him and again with the amount of games they play, it’s not like they wouldn’t be getting game time.

“I really like Robinson at Fulham. I’ve watched him a lot and I think he’s a powerhouse of a left-back and he doesn’t really fit the criteria in terms of age, value for selling on later if that was the case for Liverpool to go for a player of that age.”

“Kerkez is a bit younger. Another great overlapping full-back who could learn from Robertson and maybe get minutes in other competitions. So that would probably be more realistic.”
