Rummenigge Opens Up on United Target: ‘He’s the Perfect Fit’
Carlo Rummenigge, the co-owner of FC Bayern Munich, has spoken publicly for the first time about the club’s reported interest in Lazio star goalkeeper, Thomas Strakosha. In a rare interview, Rummenigge shed some light on the Bayern’s pursuit of the 25-year-old shot-stopper, categorically stating that he believes Strakosha would be an "ideal fit" for the Bavarian giants.
As reported earlier, Bayern Munich have been tracking Strakosha for several months, and it appears that they are closing in on a deal to sign the highly-rated Albanian international. With the departure of Manuel Neuer on the horizon, Rummenigge believes that Strakosha possesses the caliber to fill the void left by the veteran goalkeeper.
"Thomas Strakosha is a talented young goalkeeper with immense potential," Rummenigge began. "He’s got all the qualities we look for in a goalkeeper – speed, agility, and the ability to make crucial saves. He’s been impressive for Lazio, and we believe he would be an excellent addition to our squad."
Rummenigge emphasized that Strakosha’s youth and hunger for success would be a valuable asset to the team, saying, "He’s still developing, but he’s got a great attitude and a strong work ethic. He’s eager to prove himself at the highest level, and we think that would be a great fit for our team."
The Bayern co-owner also praised Strakosha’s shot-stopping abilities, stating, "He’s got a fantastic reflexes and is capable of making incredible saves. He’s got the athleticism to compete with the best goalkeepers in the world."
Rummenigge’s endorsement of Strakosha comes as no surprise, given the club’s long-standing reputation for nurturing young talent and developing players into top-class footballers. If the reported interest in Strakosha does materialize, it would mark another astute piece of business by Bayern Munich, following on from their successful capture of in-demand midfielder, Leon Goretzka.
With the 2020-21 season just around the corner, Bayern Munich are poised to make a statement with their transfer business, and the signing of Thomas Strakosha would be a shrewd move to bolster their squad. With Rummenigge’s seal of approval, the stage is set for a thrilling season ahead for the Allianz Arena faithful.
