Rashford – Palmer – Araujo feature in Manchester United news now

Here is a roundup of the top Manchester United news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed today…

AC Milan adviser Zlatan Ibrahimovic has confirmed that the club are trying to sign Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, who is pretty much done at Old Trafford under Ruben Amorim.

He really struggled last season under boss Erik Ten Hag and has only managed to score 8 goals in all competitions for United, which is not good enough for a player of his ability and quality when he is on top of his game, and he has not been any better this season.

This season the striker has been even worse and has even been completely dropped from the side under Ruben Amorim, who only wants players at Old Trafford that are actually keen on playing for the club.

United started welcoming bids for the 27-year-old last summer following a drastic loss of form, and are ready to let him leave the club now that the January window is open, and could accept just £40 million for the star, with AC Milan interested.

“I know him very well, I played with him when he was young, he is now an adult and established,” Ibrahimovic told Sky.

“He did great things with United and today that is his club. How to convince him?

“Milan is one of the biggest clubs in the world, everyone wants to play here. This is a difficult operation, we’ll see if we can talk to him.”

Rashford has been playing at his boyhood club for many years now and until he signed that massive £350k-a-week contract, he was tipped to become a world class attacker.

But all the money, all the off-field distractions has taken that ability away for now and a move away from the Premier League may be the best thing, and to be honest, AC Milan may be too big of a move for him.

He could really struggle at Milan, Ibrahimovic will demand the very best of the striker.

ARAUJO EYES PREMIER LEAGUE MOVE

Manchester United have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Ronald Araujo, with the defender ‘prioritising’ a move to the Premier League should he decide to leave Barcelona this January or at the end of the season.

Araujo has made over 150 appearances in all competitions for Barca since joining from Uruguayan outfit Boston River for a fee of just £1.5million back in 2017, and has firmly established himself as a regular at the heart of the club’s defence.

A serious hamstring problem meant Araujo missed the first half of this season and he made his long-awaited return in Barca’s 4-0 victory over Barbastro in the Copa del Rey last weekend, but there has been reports that he is one player that could be moved on.

Barcelona are struggling financially and have been linked with selling a number of players in order to help balance the books, and keep players at the club that they really want to build a future with.

The La Liga giants would be reluctant to accept a loan deal this winter but ‘will not close the door’ on a permanent transfer should they receive a ‘very considerable and irresistible’ offer, according to Mundo Deportivo,

The report states that Araujo has been open with his team-mates in the Barcelona dressing room that he is strongly considering a January move – and if he does depart, he will prioritise a move to England.

Look, that Manchester United defence needs sorting out, there are far too many goals being conceded by the club and adding a star like Araujo would be a massive statement signing, but we cant see that happening.

Aruajo wants to join a side that is playing Champions League football winning games and winning trophies, right now, Man United are not doing that and we dont know when they will be.

PALMER TO UNITED CLAIM MADE

Chelsea cult hero Pat Nevin believes the idea of joining Manchester United will always retain an appeal for Cole Palmer, although he he also admitted that the Blues attacker is years and years away from that potential move

Since making the decision to leave Manchester City and make the move to Chelsea just a few seasons ago, Cole Palmer has developed into one of the most dangerous players in the Premier League, and one of the best.

His performances for Chelsea over the past few seasons now means that he is the man at Stamford Bridge, mainly down to the fact that he already has over 50 goal contributions for the Blues since his arrival from City.

However – in a shock statement from Nevin, the Blues icon has come out and claimed that a move to Man United could interest Palmer in the future as the attacker is a known fan of the Red Devils: ‘Cole Palmer’s support for Manchester United is gone,’ Nevin told Grosvenor Sport.

‘It really has gone. Maybe some part of him might want to go there at the end of his career but that really won’t be in his mind.

‘There’s no way he’d want to leave a vibrant young team like Chelsea for the current Manchester United, despite their good performance against Liverpool.

‘That move would be years and years away from even being considered and if Chelsea fans get worried they just need to look at his contract length.’

Look, Palmer is enjoying the best football of his life, he is developing into a real superstars of the Premier League and obviously he is a player that Man United would surely love at the club.

But when Palmer leaves Chelsea, we are sure that it will be to experience playing football abroad, that move to Manchester United may never happen
