Wolves boss Vitor Pereira hopes that CHELSEA target Matheus Cunha will stay with the club – but admits the forward could get “opportunities” to move away from Molineux in the future.
Cunha has been in brilliant form this season for Wolves and there has been alot of speculation that the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in a move when the January window opens up in just a few days time.
Both clubs are challenging for that Premier League title, but are also still involved in the Fa Cup, Carabao Cup, Champions League, sot there are many more games to play before the end of the season and depth is something that Arne Alot and Mikel Arteta are keen on in the winter window,
Cunha got a goal and an assist against Manchester United in Wolves’ 2-0 win over Ruben Amorim’s side on Boxing Day – to make it 14 goal involvements in 18 matches this season.
But now that the January transfer window is open up and there is a chance to get the Brazilian all signed up, CHELSEA appear to be one of those clubs who have been drawn to Cunha, with CaughtOffside reporting that the Blues are interested in him.
And amid all the speculation – Pereira admits he hopes Cunha will stay with the club – but admits the forward could get “opportunities” to move away from Molineux in the future.
“I hope that he stays with us for a long time but I understand that a special player will have opportunities for sure in his career,” said the Portuguese boss of Cunha.
However, Cunha recently admitted that he feels settled and seemingly unfazed by rumours linking him with a January move: ‘I feel like it’s my home,’ Cunha told Wolves’ official website.
