Christian Pulisic suffers latest injury in AC Milan

Christian Pulisic only just returned to action with AC Milan earlier this month but unfortunately has suffered a new knock for the Serie A club.

Pulisic limped off of the field at halftime of AC Milan’s 2-1 road win over Como on Tuesday night. The U.S. men’s national team attacker clashed with Como defender Marc-Oliver Kempf and proceeded to go down pointing to his thigh.

He was replaced at halftime despite walking down the tunnel under his own power.

“We need to improve in our fitness levels,” Milan boss Sergio Conceicao said postmatch. “Because we need intensity for my football and at this moment we are missing something,”

Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao scored five minutes apart in the second half to give the Rossoneri three points on the road.

Pulisic missed time in December following a torn muscle in his right calf but proceeded to score in both the SuperCoppa Italia semifinal and final against Juventus and Inter respectively.

He’s remained a key contributor in the AC Milan squad, scoring 10 goals and adding seven assists in 24 combined appearances.

However, his latest injury will likely knock him out of contention for Saturday’s Serie A clash with Juventus.
