Christian Pulisic missed AC Milan’s Serie A draw with AS Roma on Sunday and unfortunately looks set to miss the Rossoneri’s first match of 2025.
Pulisic suffered an ankle injury during his current rehabilitation stint, former AC Milan boss Paulo Fonseca confirmed postmatch on Sunday. Fonseca was later relieved of his duties before the Rossoneri hired Sergio Conceicao on Monday.
The U.S. men’s national team star had been sidelined due to a calf injury and now this new issue could force him out of Italian Super Cup semifinal action against Juventus.
Pulisic was one of eight first team regulars missing for AC Milan on Sunday. He currently leads the team in scoring with eight goals in all competitions, while also adding six assists in 20 combined appearances.
The 26-year-old has also been linked with a new contract in recent weeks following his strong first half of the season.
AC Milan has seven matches this January, which include two in UEFA Champions League play.
Should Pulisic miss out on Friday’s match with Juventus, he could return when the Rossoneri hosts Cagliari on Jan. 11.
