Chelsea selling Christopher Nkunku would be mistake

Christopher Nkunku has been linked with a shock move away from CHELSEA this January transfer window, but reporter Iomie Stanley has claimed that it would be a mistke to let the French star depart Stamford Bridge.

In total, the 27-year-old has scored 13 goals across all competitions this term, but he has not managed to get the regular starting games in the Premier League that he would like, with Nicolas Jackson the preferred striker for Enzo Maresca.

With his Premier League minutes being limited by Enzo Maresca, there has been some shock reports in the media which have claimed that a move to Man United could be on the cards, as the Red Devils are reportedly interested in a deal for the French star.

But now, According to The Telegraph., Chelsea have given the green light for the player to leave this January window, and have stick a £65 million asking price on the head of the player.

But amid the speculation – Stanley has claimed that letting Nkunku leave could be a mistake from the Blues, he told icfootballnews: Nkunku’s versatility and attacking prowess make him a standout talent in modern football. Capable of playing as a forward, attacking midfielder, or even on the wings, he brings creativity, agility, and goal-scoring ability to any team.

‘His time at RB Leipzig showcased his remarkable output, with Nkunku scoring 20 Bundesliga goals and contributing 13 assists in the 2022/23 season. His knack for finding space, linking up play, and delivering in high-pressure situations sets him apart as one of Europe’s most dynamic attackers.

‘Nkunku’s ability to operate in tight spaces and his vision to unlock defenses would perfectly complement Chelsea’s midfield, particularly with players like Enzo Fernández and Moisés Caicedo providing stability behind him. His partnership with these creative midfielders could unlock the potential of Chelsea’s attack, enabling the team to convert possession into meaningful opportunities.

‘His versatility allows him to adapt to various tactical setups, be it as a second striker in a two-forward system, a false nine, or a dynamic attacking midfielder. For a coach like Maresca, who values adaptability, Nkunku offers a wealth of options.

‘Allowing Christopher Nkunku to leave CHELSEA this January would be a grave mistake. He offers that attack so much and his goals this season already proves that he is very capable of finding the back of the net on a regular basis.’
