Arsenal are interested in signing Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia in the January transfer window, according to Fichajes. Garcia has a release clause of €25 million in his contract, and Spanish club Espanyol are not willing to accept a lower fee.
David Raya is the number one goalkeeper for Arsenal and has done well for the North London club. However, the Gunners want more competition and think that Garcia would be a good addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad. The Spaniard is only 23 now and has a bright future ahead of him.
Arsenal, who want to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus in the January transfer window, are aiming to win the Premier League title this season. The Gunners are third in the league table at the moment with 36 points from 18 matches, nine points behind leaders Liverpool. As for Espanyol, they currently find themselves third from bottom in the La Liga table with 15 points from 18 matches, a point behind 17th-placed Getafe.
