Arsenal transfer news: Partey – Marmoush

Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed today..

There has been some reports in the media which have claimed that ARSENAL lead LIVERPOOL in the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Omar Marmoush this January transfer window.

The forward has delivered 18 goals across all competitions, continuing from his previous season’s performance of 17 goals and six assists in 41 games and is drawing all sorts of attention from some of the biggest teams in the Premier League, including the likes of Liverpool- who are always looking to add to their squad.

The Reds have one of the biggest squads in Europe – but with a number of players expected to leave in the coming windows – there will be some space for the likes of Marmoosh to come in and try to make an impact in that Arne Slots side.

According to German outlet SportBILD, LIVERPOOL have been in touch with Marmoush’s advisors for a potential transfer and have “officially registered their interest” in the Egyptian.

However – Reports on the Daily Mirror website have claimed that it is ARSENAL that are leading the chase to sign the attacker this month, as they seek to add some cover for the injured Bukayo Saka.

Marmoush’s contract with Eintracht, which runs until 2027, does not include a release clause, giving the German club the upper hand in negotiations. This absence of a buyout clause suggests both clubs may have to pay as much as £60m for Marmoush’s transfer.

What has been said by Frankfurt.

Eintracht Frankfurt director of football Markus Krosche recently opened the door to the potential sale of Omar Marmoush – recently Speaking to German media, Krosche said: “It is true that Omar made a very clear commitment to us in the summer. He has developed well and still has a lot of potential to develop further.

“For us, we don’t want to lose so many key players. I have to honestly say that no Eintracht player is unsellable but we want to keep the team together. I talk about Marmoush after every game. But that’s a good thing. Omar gives our game an incredible amount.”

BARCA EYE PARTEY

Barcelona have ARSENAL ’s Thomas Partey on their radar, with the midfielder out of contract at the end of the season and struggling to agree that new contract which will keep him at the Emirates.

Partey’s current deal is due to expire in 2025 and discussions over a possible extension at the Emirates did not happen over the summer as many believed that he would get that move away from the Premier League giants.

The Ghana international was limited in his starts for the club last season because of injury, and there were mane reports that Arsenal were deciding whether to cash in on the player in the summer or risk losing him on a free transfer in just over a year’s time.

But according to reports – after deciding to keep Partey at the club during the summer window, talks were opened over a new contract a few weeks ago and talks are still progressing before the opening of the January window.

He is expected to be offered a two-year contract extension, which would keep him at the Emirates until the age of 33. Mikel Arteta and his coaching staff are reportedly strong supporters of Partey and are eager to keep him as a key part of their squad as they continue to challenge for Premier League success.

However – Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo report that Barcelona also hold Partey in high esteem and have his name on their list of summer transfer targets.

The Catalan giants remain in a dire financial situation, so will likely be limited to free transfer deals in 2025, with Partey a standout candidate if he does not sign a new contract in north London.

When Partey is fit – he is a very solid addition to that squad – but he is never fit anymore and ARSENAL need to get rid.

But if Barcelona are really interested, it would surely be the time to join the Spaniards as he may not get this chance again

UNITED WANTS SELL RASHFORD

It has again been claimed that Man United would like to get ARSENAL target Marcus Rashford sold this January window in order to help free up some money, so they can add some players to the side.

He really struggled last season under boss Erik Ten Hag and has only managed to score 8 goals in all competitions for United, which is not good enough for a player of his ability and quality when he is on top of his game, and he has not been any better this season.

This season the striker has been even worse and has even been completely dropped from the side under Ruben Amorim, who only wants players at Old Trafford that are actually keen on playing for the club.

United started welcoming bids for the 27-year-old last summer following a drastic loss of form, and are ready to let him leave the club now that the January window is open, and could accept just £40 million for the star, but are struggling to get him sold, according to Sky Sports News’ senior reporter Melissa Reddy:

“Selling Marcus Rashford would help Man Utd financially as it would be banked in the books as pure profit as he’s an academy graduate. He says he wants a fresh challenge and the club are open to letting him leave.

“But there is no market for Rashford because of his salary, valuation, form and all the off the field problems that have been reported.

“In the current landscape where domestic clubs are trying to meet their PSR aims and clubs in Europe can’t match the fees of the Premier League, you can’t see where Rashford would begin this new adventure and where Man Utd get the money they need for him.

‘Some clubs like PSG who have had an interest in Rashford have made it clear there is no active interest in him at the moment.

“I can’t see how Manchester United make this transfer happen in January.”
