Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews that we think you may have missed today…
ARSENAL and Manchester United have joined Real Madrid in the race to sign Bournemouth centre-back Dean Huijsen, and have even made moves to sign the talented defender.
Huijsen, 19, has quickly established himself as a regular at the heart of Andoni Iraola’s defence following a £13million move from Juventus to the Vitality Stadium in the summer transfer window.
The imposing 6 ft 5 in centre-half has caught the eye with a string of assured defensive displays while providing a strong aerial presence at the other end of the pitch, and According to Spanish publication AS, Huijsen’s performances have not gone unnoticed amongst Europe’s elite, with Madrid keeping close tabs on the Spain Under-21 international this season.
Injuries to David Alaba, Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao, plus the recent departure of Nacho, have left Carlo Ancelotti with limited options at the back and Madrid are actively looking to bring in defensive reinforcements.
The report adds that Arsenal and Manchester United are providing competition for Huijsen and have started to ‘position themselves with enquiries about his contract situation’.
However – Huijsen’s current contract with Bournemouth runs through to the summer of 2030 and the Cherries are in no hurry to cash in on the highly rated youngster, not at least during the January transfer window.
Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola recently said it was ‘really amazing’ what Huijsen was achieving at such a young age: ‘For someone who is 19, what Huijsen is doing in the Premier League is really amazing,’ he told BBC Sport.
‘He showed [against Spurs] what we know he has: good level on the ball, strong personality and I think he was also good defensively.
‘Obviously if you add the extra element of the goal then it is also very nice.’
VLAHOVIC WANTED
It has been claimed that ARSENAL are looking to sign a player in the January window that can add ‘some magic moments’ to the attack, with reports that a move for Dusan Vlahovic has already been explored by the Gunners board.
The transfer window is only a few months away and it will give Mikel Arteta the chance to delve into that transfer kitty once more and try to sign a striker that will bang in goals on a weekly basis.
ARSENAL have started the season in fine fashion and are once again in the hunt to try and win the Premier League title – but there is a feeling that they are missing that 25-goal a season forward.
That has led to constant rumours in the media linking the Gunners with a move for Vlahovic – who only moved to Juventus two summers ago – but has constantly been linked with a move away as he struggled to score the goals they wanted him too.
Now Arsenal officials have made it their “top priority” to ensure they get a new forward in January, according to the Evening Standard.
The reports goes on to say that Arsenal are looking to sign a player in the January window that can add ‘some magic moments’ to the attack, especially now that Bukayo Saka is out for some time.

Vlahovic is a top-level striker, amongst the best in Europe right now and a man that could go on to really challenge Erling Haaland for the best in the game.
He has the physical attributes to be able to handle the Premier League and if you put him in a side like Arsenal – he could easily bang in 30 goals a season and maybe even get closer to the 40 goal mark.
Vlahovic is a very good striker that could be a very good signing for ARSENAL – he is one of a number of options for Mikel Arteta – he could be a very good signing for the right price that is for sure.
ARSENAL TO GET OLMO CHANCE?
Barcelona will not be able to register Chelsea, Liverpool and ARSENAL target Dani Olmo, after a Spanish court rejected an appeal, meaning the former RB Leipzig winger may not be able to play for the club from January 1.
The 26-year-old, who helped Spain win Euro 2024, joined Barcelona from Leipzig in August but he was only registered for the first half of the season as Barcelona could not meet La Liga’s wage cap restrictions.
Barcelona registered Olmo after their squad was hit by long-term injuries, allowing the club to allocate a portion of wages to register the player. His four-month allowance will expire at the end of December and the Spanish court rejected the club’s request to provisionally register him.
The Commercial Court No 10 has rejected Barcelona’s request for provisional registration of Olmo until June 2025, a ruling welcomed by La Liga.
“La Liga has today learned of the ruling… rejecting the request for the provisional registration of Dani Olmo until June 30, 2025, on the grounds that none of the necessary conditions for the adoption of an interim measure have been met,” said the Spanish league in a statement on Friday.
“The ruling also stresses that ‘the purpose of allowing additional spending is so that a long-term injury does not weaken the team’s competitiveness, not to use a long-term injury to allow the registration of players whose salaries exceed the limit, which is what FC Barcelona is attempting’.”

The news that Barcelona may not be able to register the gifted Spaniard means that the Premier League clubs may now have a chance to sign the midfielder in January, and if they were able to get him all signed up, it could be one of the best January bargains that we have seen in recent seasons.
Chelsea, ARSENAL and Liverpool will be keeping a very close eye on this situation, the January window is only a few weeks away.
